Ricardo Cervantes León, known as Tonatiuh, is a cultural ambassador, tour guide, and keeper of the Toltec tradition from San Sebastian Xolalpa, near the pyramids of Teotihuacan. Raised under the guidance of his father, Ricardo Cervantes Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, he was immersed in Toltec wisdom and sacred dance from an early age. He holds a degree in Tourism Management from La Salle University and is fluent in English, French, and German.

Tonatiuh has worked as a certified tour guide since 2001 and served in political and cultural leadership roles in his community, including as president of the Centro Cultural Tolteca de Teotihuacan, which he co-founded with his father and where he helped inaugurate the first Toltec Museum. His family business, Gorila’s Tours, promotes sustainable tourism while supporting local artisans and farmers.

Internationally recognized, Tonatiuh has represented the Toltec tradition at cultural and spiritual events around the world, including collaborations with the Dalai Lama, indigenous nations across North America, and institutions like the Dallas Museum of Art and the Young Museum in San Francisco. As a speaker, he inspires youth and university students with his passion for cultural preservation and indigenous knowledge.

Tonatiuh continues to bridge ancient wisdom with modern platforms, sharing the legacy of the Mixtec-Toltec lineage through education, ceremony, and community empowerment.
